2014 was set to be an auspicious year for the China Horse Fair (CHF) with the 8th edition of this successful series taking place during the ‘Year of the Horse’. And the results did not disappoint as a record number of professional trade buyers took this opportunity to meet, view and compare, the latest products and services on offer from a record number of local and international exhibitors.
Taking place from 22-24 October at Beijing’s New China International Exhibition Center, CHF 2014 hosted 140 exhibitors representing some of the world’s top horse breeders and trainers, leading facility equipment manufacturers, nutrition and health care suppliers, horse transportation and ancillary service providers. Attracted by China’s strong market growth and its future commitment to developing a world class equine industry, exhibitors from as far afield as Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, India, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, Sweden, UK, USA and of course China, displayed their latest products and services.
This high level of international exhibitor participation, 15.8% up on the previous event, is evidence of China’s emergence as an important export market and once again CHF 2014 welcomed country pavilions from Germany, Holland, France, UK, and Argentina. Also keen to establish a strong presence in this market, groups from Ireland and Belgium were exhibiting as international pavilions at CHF for the first time. With such an international and comprehensive display of market leading products and services, it was no surprise that nearly 2,400 trade buyers from across China and the region attended CHF 2014, an increase of 12.6% over last year’s show.
A visit to CHF 2014 offered owners and operators of breeding establishments, rider and horse training schools, stables, equestrian centres and horse racing facilities, an opportunity to view and compare those products and services essential for delivering world class results. Products and services on display covered nutrition, dental and healthcare, stabling and transportation, saddlery and tack, clothing, fencing, safety, training and facility management, purchasing and breeding.
Representing the country’s top breeding and horse sports and leisure facilities, buyers came from across China including those major centres of activity in Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Shanghai, Chengdu and Wuhan. The audience benefitted from having direct access to international experts who were able to discuss and advise them on their future plans and requirements.
In addition to the exhibits on display and the practical advice available on the stands of suppliers, CHF 2014 hosted a range of highly topical activities including live riding skills and horse training demonstrations, educational forums, and networking drinks which created great opportunities for exhibitors and visitors to benefit from first-hand exchange of information.
Commenting on the results, Sonia Ou Yang, Marketing Manager for CHF 2014, said ""We are delighted to welcome such a strong visitor and international exhibitor presence to the CHF 2014 and it clearly demonstrates a belief in China’s potential to be a major world player in the future."" She went onto say “At CHF there is a unique level of top quality advice and support available from the international equine community for those Chinese owners and operators prepared to invest now in their future success.""
Since its launch in 2007, the CHF has consistently grown and developed alongside the industry it represents and it is now firmly established as China’s most important and respected gathering for trade professionals involved in all forms of equine sports and leisure activities. Andrew Furness, Director of Tarsus Hope Exhibition Co., Ltd., the organiser of CHF, commented, “ It’s been my privilege to be involved with the CHF since 2008 when the strategic decision was taken to relocate the show from Shanghai to Beijing, the success of this and previous editions confirms this was the right decision.” He went onto say “We now have a very experienced team at Tarsus Hope who work closely with the industry enabling us to constantly improve the effectiveness of the show to deliver new business opportunities.”
CHF 2015 will once again take place in Beijing from 14-16 October 2015. Further information is available at www.chinahorsefair.com.cn .
