New China
International Exhibition Center (NCIEC), Beijing, China
12-14
October 2017
With
over 80% of available exhibit space already booked, the China Horse Fair 2017
(CHF 2017) is once again set to be the largest and most comprehensive trade
event for China’s professional horse sports and leisure industries. Strategically
located in Beijing, CHF 2017 has already attracted suppliers from America, Australia,
Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Korea, the Netherlands, Russia, UK, and
of course China, who are ready to
market and sell their products and expertise to China’s emerging market.
Commenting on the
high level of exhibitor demand, Jane Carter, International Sales Manager for
CHF 2017 said, “Top suppliers know that they can’t afford to ignore the Chinese
market as it continues its rapid growth and development. Now on its 11th edition, the China Horse Fair is recognised as the country’s leading equine trade
event and we see this in the high number of repeat exhibitors from one year to
the next. In addition many new suppliers are using the show to enter the market
given its reputation for delivering high quality
big spending Chinese contacts.”
Chinese suppliers are also showing great confidence in the local
market with many previous exhibitors, such as Olymmed, Rocky, Teng Saddlery, A-land, Baslong,
Ruizi, Apple, Rider Horse, and KDL, already deciding to
increase their stand space at CHF 2017 compared to previous years”.
Identifying
the drivers behind this continued market growth, the CHF marketing team undertook
extensive market research surveying over 200 Chinese riding clubs to gauge
their purchasing plans for the next 18 months and results were as follows:
60% of Chinese riding clubs are planning to purchase horses
74% of Chinese riding clubs purchase horses annually
81% of Chinese riding clubs plan to purchase horse related equipment
52% of Chinese riding clubs plan to upgrade or build new stables
65% of Chinese riding clubs plan to purchase nutrition and veterinary
products
“Increasing numbers of China’s wealthy and
middle-class are discovering the pleasures of horse sports and leisure
activities. In addition China’s national sports bodies are keen to be
competitive on the international equestrian stage, so the demand for quality
horses, training facilities, equipment, and services in China keeps
increasing.” Said Sonia Ou Yang, CHF 2017 Marketing Manager. She went onto say “It is clear that the popularity of horse riding
continues to grow in China. China imported 2,300 horses in 2015, which is a big
increase compared to previous years, and clubs are particularly interested in
purchasing horses from America, Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland,
Japan, The Netherlands, Sweden and the UK, which means new sales opportunities
for international suppliers”.
This opportunity has not
gone un-noticed by the top global equestrian suppliers many of whom will be
exhibiting at CHF 2017 including KWPN- Royal Warmblood
Studbook of the Netherlands, UNIC (France), Equestrian Globe (Germany),
Botanica (Ireland), Horseware (Ireland), World Haflinger Breeding and Sports Federation (Italy) and, Jadem (Belgium), as well as new exhibitors for example Altay stud farm (Russia).
Reflecting the increasing
sophistication of the Chinese market, there will be a diverse range of products
on offer from the international exhibitors including veterinary and equine
healthcare and welfare products, saddleries, transportation services and rider
training programmes, as well as horses and breeding services.
It
is an ideal time for international suppliers to enter the Chinese Horse market
as the purchasing
power of buyers in China’s equestrian industry is already very strong and
expected to grow steadily in line with the increased interest in equestrian
sports.
“Rather than spending large amounts of
time trying to identify who to contact to gain entry to this market, at CHF 2017 we will bring the
Chinese Equestrian market to our exhibitors! Over 3 days our
exhibitors will have the potential to meet over 3,000 Chinese Equestrian buyers, all sourcing for horses, equestrian
products and services”. Jane Carter, CHF 2017 International Sales Manager
confidently said.
