With five months still to go before it opens its doors to the professional equine community in China, the China Horse Fair 2019 (CHF 2019) has already attracted the attention of top international and domestic brands.
Hope Tarsus Exhibition Co., Ltd, the organiser, is reporting that 80% of available exhibit space is already occupied as manufacturers and suppliers look to profit from its co-location with one of China's most important equestrian competitions.
Commenting on the decision to combine this premier trade exhibition and competition, Sonia Ou Yang, Marketing Manager for CHF 2019 said, “By bringing two of China's most respected equine events together at the same time and in the same venue, will not only increase new business opportunities, but will also deliver many networking and educational benefits as professionals from across the world gather in Beijing to learn and exchange ideas and experiences.”Ou Yang went onto say, “Through a carefully managed programme of activities, we plan to ensure that both professional buyers and amateur enthusiasts alike will have plenty of face time with some of the world's leading and most innovative manufacturers and suppliers on display.” One such initiative will be to have the competition registration area in the exhibition hall which will result in around 400 riders taking advantage of this convenient opportunity to view and compare the latest products whilst registering their participation in the competition.
Highlighting the international flavour of this year's China Horse Fair, Ireland will once again have a strong representation in the form of an Enterprise Ireland national pavilion. Summing up his country's growing influence on the development of the Chinese market, His Excellency Eoin O'Leary, Ambassador of Ireland to China stated during his speech at the opening ceremony of the 2018 event, “Ireland's horse industry is in the very front row of national horse industries in the world. Horse lovers and experts around the world, when they think of first-class horses, of champion thoroughbreds, of winning sports horses, of friendly, calm and faithful pleasure horses, they automatically think of Ireland.” He went onto say “And more and more each year, horse lovers and experts, right here in China, also think of Ireland when they want to have the best, the fastest racers, the highest jumpers, the strongest eventers, or indeed, the most stable pets for their families.”
In a highly topical reference given this year's co-location with the Equuleus International Riding Club's FEI recognised equestrian competition, H.E. Ambassador O'Leary commented on the fact that “At the World Equestrian Games in 2018, some 32 Irish-bred horses competed, representing 15 nations in the disciplines of Eventing, Show Jumping and Para-Dressage. Irish Sports horses not only win medals for Ireland; they do so regularly for Great Britain, Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, and a host of other countries.” He concluded with “I believe that it is time for Irish-bred Sport Horses to begin to win international medals for China.”
Reflecting the growing level of sophistication and professionalism in the Chinese equine sector, Ian Bellion, National Group Manager for Equissage Australia, a new exhibitor to the China Horse Fair said, “Equissage Australia has been committed to improving the health and well-being of horses across Australia and NZ for nearly 20 years. The Chinese market is a vibrant and growing equine market across all disciplines and we feel that Equissage Therapy Systems have a large role to play within the Asian region. Whether it is improving performance, maintaining peak condition or as a powerful rehabilitation tool, Equissage Therapy can have a big impact.” Bellion went onto say “Equissage Australia is already creating a lot of interest in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan so the Chinese market is an important market for us to work on. We are now actively seeking a Chinese company to become the importer/distributor and work with us in growing the Equissage brand in China.
Alongside new international exhibitors will be innovative Chinese companies looking to create awareness about their products and services. One such company is Lsmaju who produce high quality stables. A spokesperson for Lsmaju said “It's the first time for us to exhibit and as the biggest and most internationalized trade exhibition in China serving the equine industry, China Horse Fair 2019 is an ideal platform for us to meet with and establish business partnerships with Chinese and overseas stud farms and riding clubs”.
Another new comer to the event is Suzhou Safeway Shield Sports Tech Co. Ltd, who supplyhigh quality safety vests (BSA-AIR) and believe CHF 2019 is the right place to market the benefits of their products to potential buyers.
Now on its 13th edition, making it by far the longest and most established trade event for the country's equine sector, China Horse Fair 2019 will take place 19-21 September at theEquuleus International Riding Club Beijing.
