The 14th edition of China Horse Fair will take place from February 29th - 2nd March 2024, the first time it has been held since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. In a major strategic change, the organiser, Hope Exhibitions Co., Ltd., announced that China Horse Fair 2024 has been moved to Shanghai, a large and rapidly growing hub for the country’s professional equine sports and leisure industry. 

Commenting on its return and the change in location, Sonia Ou Yang, Event Director, said, “The equine sports and leisure market in China is bouncing back strongly and has demonstrated its resilience despite the disruptions caused by the pandemic. After close consultation with key stakeholders, we believe the time is now right to bring buyers and sellers back together again to network, learn and initiate new business opportunities.” Commenting on the choice of Shanghai as the host city for the 2024 event, Ou yang said, “Equestrian sports in Shanghai and its neighbouring provinces have grown significantly over recent years and this region is now a major business and development centre for the sector. With its excellent domestic and international transport links, Shanghai is a convenient meeting point for buyers and sellers alike and we anticipate high levels of attendance and extensive new business deals to be signed at this long-awaited return of China Horse Fair.”

This positive sentiment appears to be shared by manufacturers and suppliers of equestrian products and services with the organiser reporting that enquiries for exhibit stands has been well above anticipated levels and the event is on track to be fully sold out.  

In a further change to its normal format, China Horse Fair 2024 will be held in conjunction with Shanghai IWF 2024, one of China’s largest and best attended exhibitions for fitness and health products including venue management, facility equipment and fittings, nutrition, clothing, sports science and technology. Commenting on this strategic cooperation between two well-known exhibition brands, Ou Yang said, “This will ensure that in addition to the many existing equestrian club owners, trainers, horse breeders and riding club members that traditionally attend China Horse Fair, thousands of potential new participants will be able to learn about the benefits and enjoyment of horse sports and leisure activities and join China’s growing equine community.” 

China Horse Fair 2024 will be held from February 29th – 2nd March 2024 in Hall N5 of the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre, Shanghai.
