Following its much-anticipated return earlier this year, the organiser of China Horse Fair has announced that the next year edition will take place in conjunction with ISPO Shanghai from 4-6 July 2025.
China Horse Fair Shanghai 2025 will be the 16th edition of this specialist trade event dedicated to serving China’s rapidly growing professional equestrian sports and tourism sector, a market said to be worth RMB138.3bn in 2019, an increase in value of 51% in just three years. In that same year it was estimated that there were more than 2,150 equestrian clubs across China with 1.2 million members, a national penetration rate of just 0.72%, thus confirming the huge untapped potential of this emerging market.
Organised annually by Messe Munich GmbH, a world leading trade event organiser, ISPO Munich is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s largest trade fairs for the global sports supplies industry and this high-profile brand has a portfolio of international events including ISPO Shanghai which targets the booming sports industry in China. This cooperation with China Horse Fair is set to create the country’s most comprehensive and inclusive trade event for the supply of sports and outdoor activities equipment and services.
Commenting on this collaboration, Sonia Ou Yang, Show Director for China Horse Fair 2025, said, “Collaborating with ISPO will enable participants at both events to benefit from the synergy that exists between these two leading show brands and in particular, introducing the many health and fitness benefits of taking part in equestrian sports and tourism to a new and much wider audience of sports enthusiasts.” Ou Yang went onto say, “Equestrian sports and tourism is an exciting growth sector and its development is being actively encouraged and supported by the national government. This in turn is driving a rise in standards and as a result, we are seeing increasing investment in the best facilities and equipment, training, nutrition, health and safety, tack, rider clothing and bloodstock.”
Following the positive feedback from this year’s show, Ou Yang is confident that equestrian buyers and enthusiasts from across the country will flock to China Horse Fair Shanghai 2025, to meet with and view the latest products and services on display from a wide range of both international and local suppliers.
Adding his thoughts, Andrew Furness, International Sales and Marketing Director for China Horse Fair Shanghai 2025, said “After the disruption of the Covid pandemic we can clearly see from the feedback at this year’s show, that China’s equestrian market is well and truly open for business.” Furness went onto say “For international suppliers already active in China and looking to grow their exports, or, for producers keen to test this exciting market for the first time, the nationwide reach of China Horse Fair Shanghai 2025, offers these companies a highly cost-effective vehicle to meet those objectives.”
China Horse Fair Shanghai 2025 will take place in collaboration with ISPO Shanghai 2025 from 4-6 July 2025 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), Shanghai, China. Further information is available on the show’s official website, www.chinahorsefair.com.cn
