Mr. Feng Shoufeng
Operation Director
Q: When did you first open your riding club?
A: Sheng Xiao Equestrian Club was established in June 2024 and is located in the south of Gugukou University in Huangdao District, Qingdao City.
Q: In your opinion, how has the equestrian market in China changed since you first opened and what are your predictions for the future?
A: In recent years, equestrian sports in China have made significant progress, and more and more teenagers have started to be exposed to and fall in love with this sport. With the continuous improvement of the national equestrian club teaching system, the number of equestrian competitions in various regions has increased year by year, providing more platforms and opportunities for the club's riders to exercise and grow. Moreover, more and more equestrian enthusiasts have become horse owners by buying their own horses, which has solidified a high-quality customer base for the development of the equestrian industry. I believe that with the continuous popularization and development of equestrian sports, more teenagers and adult students will get on horseback and find their own equestrian lifestyle in equestrian clubs.
Q: How do you currently source products for your riding club's future needs?
A: Our current procurement needs are focused on equestrian equipment for members, including horse pants, boots, leg guards, inflatable armor, helmets, gloves, whips, and other equestrian equipment. After becoming an equestrian enthusiast, customers usually purchase a set of equestrian equipment. The club's procurement needs include saddles, safety pedals, training whips, and some common equestrian equipment, which are purchased irregularly based on daily wear and tear and the club's development needs.
Q: What products are you and your club members most interested in purchasing over the next 12-18 months?
A: Inflatable armor, horse pants, helmets, leg guards, boots and other equestrian equipment are all in demand for purchase. There are now a wide variety of products on the market, such as women's helmets that combine beauty and practicality. Female members may purchase more than one helmet.
Q: Are you planning to invest more or less this year compared to last year and what will be your main purchases over the next 18 months?
A: Our club has a good development momentum, and our investment plan for the club this year is constantly increasing. We will have a demand to purchase horses and corresponding equestrian teaching equipment, saddles, whips, and other products based on the needs of the club.
Q: How important is it for you and your club members to be able to view and compare both international and local products?
A: We value the style, quality, and price of our products when purchasing, and there are no specific requirements for which brand to choose.
Q: What advice would you give to international suppliers thinking of selling their products in China?
A: Many people who are learning equestrianism now are beginners and are not likely to spend too much money on purchasing equestrian equipment at the beginning. It is recommended that international suppliers can offer products at different prices to meet the needs of different customer groups at different stages.
Q: Do you attend any other trade fairs apart from China Horse Fair?
A: The CHF Horse Show is a platform for equestrian practitioners from all over the world to exchange ideas. Participating in the CHF Horse Show provides us with opportunities to communicate and obtain external information, so we have not participated in any other trade fairs for the time being.
